26 July, 2021: By Ajoy Maitra

Battlefield has always been in a competition with Call of Duty or rather say vice versa. Let's not get into the details of such controversy as both action genre defines it's greatness in it's own way.

Battlefield 2042 was recently been announced to be released set in October 22, 2021, allowing a massive gameplay world for players to change rules of a next-gen warfare. New features exciting players are a common attribute of the game in every series. As confirmed from the developers, Battlefield 2042 will feature a Battle Pass system for seasonal content with free as well as premium tiers.

We're so proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but over the past eight years, we've developed our own culture and our own way of doing things. We're excited to look towards the future, expand the team and establish our own identity.

Christian Grass, the general manager of Riffle Effect Studio (the predecessor of DICE LA), says in the announcement.

While Battle-Royale multiplayers were gaining potential and gathering favours during the age of PUBG, Fortnite, Overwatch and many others, Battlefield V multiplayer was not that impressive to compete those titles. However, Call of Duty already took over the genre in offering a Free-to-Play - Call of Duty Warzone.

Battlefield 2042 developers at the latest have annonced the three Multiplayer experiences namely: All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone & Battlefield Portal. The latter mode - Portal has been offered a surprise to it's fans allowing to relive content from Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3.

Battlefield Portal is a love letter to fans and creators. This creative suite will give the community more opportunity than ever before to create their own spin on the Battlefield experience.

states the Senior Design Director Justin Wiebe of Ripple Effect Studios.

A Free-To-Play is what players wish for in the current age of Battle-Royale and other Multiplayers, for online streaming while enjoying with friends. Long enjoyed modes of Team Deathmatch, Conquest and Rush would be available at launch in Battlefield Portal. Warzone's massive player base is a concern for the developers of Battlefield 2042 as this requires a head-to-head competition to offer a free-to-play multiplayer experience combined with the latest Battle-Royale features. However, Portal not being a Battle-Royale mode has been confirmed, while it launches as a free component of Battlefield 2042 in October, 2021.
